This post is a little different. It has more words than usual. I think it’s worthwhile to read because I share how one week turned into three. There are highs and lows on this journey that you might appreciate if given some explanation. But I’ll attempt to keep it as short as possible. Also I have a video for you this time, finally, so it’s the best of both.
Both a blessing and a curse are brought to you today in the form of the latest REVO update. First, the game ensures you can’t get stuck forever in a battle without ammo, and then it literally paints you in a corner with the latest boss upgrade.
Thanks to the excellent support of a tiny group of playtesters, I have received helpful bug reports as well as insightful feature requests. This time we focus on old and new bug reports related to the game’s controls.
Sometimes you just need to better see what’s happening. This was done in two ways: more glow and more info. Thanks to some tester feedback, we have a slightly more polished experience that should help new players learn just a little faster.
Did you feel that? I think there’s a storm closing in. That’s right, even deep space has weather of a kind, especially in this electrifying update for REVO.
Knowing what’s ahead can give you a fair shot at success while not having long to react can be very exciting. In this update, I attempt to achieve both.
Enemies are now tougher, weapons are more powerful, level and resource progression is smoother, and bugs are fixed-er.
For the last two weeks, I have rebuilt a core system of the game. This is the sort of work that has happened more and more over the past year or so as we approach a completed state. It’s important to make sure existing features work as intended.
If you haven’t tried the Blackout device in REVO, you’ve really been missing out, but now that it’s locked behind a boss battle, and given the increased difficulty of the entire game, I wish you luck in laying hold of it. You’ll be very glad you did, however.
